Clinton's Jared Simpson Wins Prospect League Pitcher of The Week
CLINTON, IOWA,- After a sensational week on the mound, Clinton LumberKings' starter Jared Simpson (University of Iowa) has been named the Prospect League Pitcher of the Week.
Simpson, the Clinton Native, started two games for the LumberKings during the span, striking out 13 batters, allowing just two hits and holding opponents to an average of .095 over 6.1 scoreless innings.
On Sunday against the O'Fallon Hoots Simpson went four innings and struck out nine batters on the way to a Clinton victory at NelsonCorp Field.
